Introduction
This website is created to give information about a Desert Ecosystem, there is information on the plants, animals, land forms, the climate and the interaction of animals & plants and humans. All of this information will help the question: Whose needs are more important in this Desert Ecosystem, animals or humans? I believe that animal's needs are more important in the Sonoran Desert because they cannot eat poisonous animals, and there are not very many animals in the Sonoran Desert, yet us humans can cook poisonous foods or cut off the poison's holder from the animal so we can eat them.
Climate
There are our normal four seasons in the Sonoran Desert, winter, spring, summer, fall. There is an addition to the seasons, Foresummer. The highest average temp. in the winter months, December, January, February, is the mid 60o Fahrenheit, about 17.0o Celsius, in the spring months, March, April, the warmest average temp. is between 70o Fahrenheit and 80o Fahrenheit; in the foresummer months, May and June, the coolest average temp. is between 80o Fahrenheit and 100o Fahrenheit; in the summer months July, August, September, the hottest average temp. is between 90o Fahrenheit and 100o Fahrenheit. The average temp. in the fall months, October, November, is 70o Fahrenheit to 85o Fahrenheit, 40o through 60o Celsius. The coolest temperatures in all the months are between 40o & 80o Fahrenheit, 3o and 40o Celsius. The average rainfall in the winter months is .30"-.95" of rain, but the average snowfall is about .30" of snow, but the average rainfall in the spring months is .30"-.70" of rain.
Land forms
There are obviously, as every desert has, mesas in the Sonoran Desert. A mesa is like a hill or mountain, but with a flat peak. The word mesa comes from the Spanish word "mesa" it means table. People call a mesa a table-top, sometimes. There are not very many mountains in the Sonoran Desert, for a big desert, there are mountains that are short, medium-sized and a few large ones.
